Vinificação: Colheita manual no seu melhor momento, as uvas são desengaçadas, esmagadas e vinificadas numa cuidadosa maceração com extração de cor, taninos e aromas de película, complementados por remontagens permanentes durante a fermentação. Este processo ocorre em cubas a uma temperatura controlada entre 28-30ºC, até atingir o Baumé desejado. Nesta fase, o brandy de uva é adicionado (benefício), originando um vinho fortificado. Um vinho de uma qualidade excepcional, obtido através da lotação de várias colheitas, a fim de adquirir uma complementaridade de características organolépticas típicas deste estilo envelhecido tawny. Matures em madeira por períodos variáveis ??de tempo em que a idade mencionada no rótulo corresponde à média aproximada da idade dos diferentes vinhos no lote, expressando o caráter do vinho no que concerne às características conferidas pelo envelhecimento em barris de carvalho.

Notas de prova: Este vinho amaciado de carvalho é um verdadeiro deleite. Seu paladar médio é elegante e o vinho tem todos os frutos caramelizados e nuances de nozes que você esperaria de um tawny de 40 anos de alta qualidade. Taninos muito suaves chegam com um pouco de ar e fornecem um pouco de aderência ao acabamento. O vinho é bem equilibrado e muito refinado.

Winemaking: Hand-harvest at their best moment, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and vinified in a careful maceration with extraction of colour, tannins and pellicle aromas, complemented by permanent pumping-over during fermentation. This process takes place in vats at a controlled temperature between 28-30ºC, until reaching the desired Baumé. At this phase grape brandy is added (benefit), originating a fortified wine. A wine of an exceptional quality, obtained by the lotation of several harvests, in order to acquire a complementarity of organoleptic characteristics typical of this style aged tawny. Matures in wood for variable periods of time in which the age mentioned on the label corresponds to the approximated average of the different wines age on the lot, expressing the character of the wine in what concerns the characteristics conferred by the ageing in oak casks.

Tasting Notes: This oak-softened wine is a real treat. Its mid-palate is elegant and the wine has all of the caramelized fruits, and nutty nuances you would expect in a top-quality 40-year tawny. Very mild tannins arrive with some air, and they provide a little grip on the finish. The wine is well balanced and very refined.

Store and Serve Advices: Bottle should be in the upright position, at a constant temperature and away from intense direct light. After opening, consume preferably in 20 to 24 weeks. Port wine is a natural wine, so it may form some natural sediment with time. Pour it carefully, so it does not become cloudy. Should be consumed at a temperature between 16º to 18º C.
