VINIFICAÇÃO: No ano vitícola de 2008/2009 ocorreu uma precipitação total inferior à média anual ocorrida entre 1930 e 1960. O mês de maior precipitação foi Janeiro.

Por outro lado, as temperaturas médias observadas foram de uma forma geral semelhantes às das décadas acima referidas. No entanto, o mês de Agosto foi em média mais quente em 2ºC quando comparado com a média. Este facto torna-se ainda mais importante se tivermos em conta que os primeiros onze dias do mês foram relativamente frescos em relação ao normal da região.

A vindima de 2009 não foi fácil, tendo ficado condicionada pelas altas temperaturas sentidas em Agosto e Setembro.Esta vindima, permitiu-nos obter vinhos com grande qualidade e diversidade.

NOTAS DE PROVA: Uma cor vermelho-tijolo com profundidade média e rebordo laranja claro. O aroma, ligeiramente fumado / baunilha, proveniente de pipas avinhadas, muito antigas, que se prolongam por aromas de marmelada, passas e damascos secos. VINIFICATION: The 2008/2009 agricultural year was marked by low rainfall in the winter months, January was the month with the highest rainfall. While the average temperatures in general were similar to previous decades, however, the month of August was on average more than 2°C warmer even though the first eleven days of the month were relatively fresh compared to a normal year in the region.

The 2009 harvest was not easy, with very high temperatures in August and September. The 2009 harvest allowed us to obtain Ports of great quality and complexity.

TASTING NOTES: A brick-red appearance with medium depth and a light orange rim. On the nose a slightly smoky/vanilla aroma from the very old seasoned pipes casks follows through with aromas of marmalade, raisins and dried apricots. Medium-bodied on the palate, with a mellow lengthy spirit-driven finish.
