Tal como acontece com a maioria dos Portos Vintage clássicos, o tempo do ano agrícola anterior à colheita foi quase perfeito, com pouca precipitação durante o Inverno e na Primavera. No entanto, os aguaceiros fracos que caíram em Junho, a chuva forte nos últimos três dias de Agosto, e o início de noites mais frescas em Setembro foram preciosos ao permitir a conclusão do processo de maturação das uvas.

A colheita de 1992 iniciou-se com um tempo meteorológico favorável até finais de Setembro, apenas com um aguaceiro inesperado até ao final da colheita. A qualidade da fruta apresentou-se consistentemente boa, com um rácio elevado de casca em relação ao sumo na fermentação de mostos e um excelente aroma.

O Vintage 1992 é proveniente de pequenas parcelas de vinhas antigas no Vale do Pinhão e prosseguiu com o seu envelhecimento nas caves em Vila Nova de Gaia. No Outono de 1994, foram engarrafadas 53.000 garrafas.

NOTAS DE PROVA: De cor meio carregada, com bordo vermelho. No aroma, começa por denotar o envelhecimento em garrafa, que se mantém no palato, com um ligeiro carácter de chocolate amargo e jovens frutos pretos. Bom equilíbrio de juventude e extracto no palato, conduzindo a um final espirituoso dominante.

As with most classic Vintage Ports, the time of the agricultural year prior to harvest was almost perfect, with little rainfall during winter and spring. However, the light showers that fell in June, the heavy rain in the last three days of August, and the start of cooler nights in September were invaluable in allowing the grapes to mature.

The 1992 harvest started with a favorable weather until the end of September, with only an unexpected downpour until the end of the harvest. The quality of the fruit was consistently good, with a high ratio of peel to juice in the fermentation of musts and an excellent aroma.

Vintage 1992 comes from small plots of old vineyards in the Pinhão Valley and continued to age in the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. In autumn 1994, 53,000 bottles were bottled.

TASTING NOTES: Half-charged in color, with a red border. In the aroma, it begins to denote aging in the bottle, which remains on the palate, with a slight character of bitter chocolate and young black fruits. Good balance of youth and extract on the palate, leading to a dominant witty finish.
