ENVELHECIMENTO O Blandy’s Colheita Sercial é envelhecido em cascos de carvalho americano segundo o proceso tradicional de ‘Canteiro’. Isto inclui um delicado aquecimento do vinho no sotão dos armazéns no Funchal. Ao longo dos anos o vinho vai sendo transferido dos pisos superiores aos pisos intermédios, e eventualmente para o piso ao nível do chão onde é mais fresco. Após esta ‘estufagem gradual’ o vinho é filtrado e clarificado antes de ser engarrafado. 2009 Só foram produzidas 1.224 garrafas deste vinho.

MATURATION Blandy’s Sercial Colheita was aged in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the wine is gently heated by warm air in the lofts of the company’s south-facing lodge in Funchal. Over the years the casks are transferred from the top floor to the middle floor and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The wine is regularly racked during the ageing process and is finally bottled when the desired balance of maturity is reached.

BOTTLING YEAR 2009 Only 1,224 bottles of this wine were produced.
